Tutoring and Individual Follow-up

Since September 2008, Paper 4 All has put in place a tutoring programme, called Burkina School Monitor ("Soutien aux Elèves nécessiteux" as it is called locally), to help children maximize their learning experience.  The programme focuses on 150 pupils and was introduced with a band and artists at the Cite de L'Avenir school, with Mr. Minoungo, commissioner for the Bogodogo area in Burkina Faso.

Within this tutoring programme:

1) 48 of the children received a scholarship to pay for their academic fees and avoid them being expelled from school in 2008. All the 150 children received the academic fees for 2009.

2) In addition, in 2008, 77 storm lamps to enable a better learning experience for these children, and deserve to see their will to learn and work facilitated. In 2009, 176 children received a storm lamp.

3) Also, 50 mosquito nets were distributed in order to fight malaria for affected children in 2008. In 2009, we supported children with 176 mosquito nets.

 

- Action #14: October 2009: Paper for All distributed 176 moquito nets, 176 stom lamps and 450 000 FCFA ($ 930) for payment of academic fees of 150 children.

- Action #9: July 2009 : Paper for All distributed 50 moquito nets, 77 storm lamps and 144 000 FCFA ($ 300) for payment of academic fees of 48 children.

This program shall go on for the academic year 2009-2010, with even more frequent contact between our benevolent tutors on the field and the children benefiting from the program. The aim is to go one step beyond and offer complementary guidance for the education of these children.
